The Beautiful Noise series sought to provide local music fans with top-notch entertainment and delivered in a big way with the booking of Feist. The hour long plus set featured a selection of tunes from her Let It Die record and also provided the audience with a glimpse of what would become one of 2007’s top records. The Reminder was on practically every Top 10 and 20 list and garnered Feist a Pop Album of the Year nomination at 2008’s 50th Grammy Awards. Sea Lion Woman is one such tune that Feist played that night. See for yourselves.
Experience new cutting edge artists and the biggest names on the Canadian indie music scene in Beautiful Noise. Includes live music performances and interviews.
BEAUTIFUL NOISE aims to be the music series people will be collecting years from now.
Produced for RAVE HD in the US, this production is shot at Toronto’s extraordinary Berkeley Church in front of a live studio audience featuring pop music stars – some hidden gems, some international sensations, all brilliant! Shot in the distinctive Original Spin Media style.
Berkeley Church provided the perfect setting for photo shoots, interviews and the live musical performances.
“Beautiful Noise was recorded live at the Berkeley Church in Toronto in January of 2006 and was produced as part of a television series bearing the same name (it was released on DVD by Stony Plain in 2010).
This is the best representation of Jeff Healey and his Jazz Wizards tearing it up live. The set brilliantly showcases all the virtuosity, all the genuine fun and exuberance of Jeff’s hand-picked band at the top of their game.
And what a band… Jesse Barksdale on Guitar, Colin Bray on Bass, Jeff on Guitar, Vocals and Trumpet, Drew Jurecka on Violin and Saxophone, Reide Kaiser on Piano, Christopher Plock on Saxophones, Gary Scriven on Drums, Ross Woolridge on Clarinet and Terra Hazelton (lending her bluesy vocals to three tunes)… a tight mix of veterans and fresh faces on the Toronto Jazz scene. The performance in this show is so solid, you’d think they’d been playing together as a unit for decades instead of just several (sporadic) years…
‘Beautiful Noise‘ is a stunning show that definitely rates as Essential Jeff Healey. Dig!
