“Dignity in Focus brings together over 300 young professionals, leaders and partygoers with the vision of a world beyond poverty. Each year we exhibit and auction photographs themed around the concept of dignity from locally and globally renowned photographers, as well as Picture Dignity contest winners.  All funds raised from the event were used to support Acumen’s work in Africa, India and Pakistan as well as social entrepreneurs right here in Toronto.” http://www.ocic.on.ca/content/dignity-focus-charity-photo-auction

Airship37 was filled with vibrant beautiful images. The crowd paused significantly at each piece of work. There was a lot of excitement in the bidding portion of the evening as prospective buyers circled their favourite pieces.

“This year marked Toronto+Acumen’s 4th annual Dignity in Focus, and to us, the night was something special. We showcased 30 photographs that were internationally sourced from our Picture Dignity photography contest and exposed how dignity is found in all walks of life and from many different perspectives.”http://toronto.plusacumen.org/blog/events/toronto-shows-the-world-what-dignity-is-all-about/

“The night also served as a perfect opportunity to announce the 1st winner of Pioneer+TO – our $10,000 grant competition for emerging social entrepreneurs in Toronto. After reviewing over 120 applicants, Toronto+Acumen was delighted to reveal that Peacebuilders International (Canada) was our big winner.  Our funding will help kick-start Peacebuilders’ Junior Entrepreneurs in Training initiative – a social enterprise focused helping at-risk youth in the GTA develop entrepreneurial and leadership skills though the sale of second-hand iPods.” http://toronto.plusacumen.org/blog/events/toronto-shows-the-world-what-dignity-is-all-about/
