Vice Canada’s first-ever newfront presentation at Toronto’s Airship37
Vice held a stylish party at Airship37 to celebrate its achievements, honour content producers and announce their future plans. All of this and the chance for guests to relax and connect over cocktails and a barbecue.
The hangar industrial modern space at Airhsip37 is the perfect location to launch your product, share your ideas and celebrate your brand.
Vice was originally three people in a loft in old montreal twenty years ago. If there is one thing that connects what they were doing twenty years ago with today its making good content, real content not boring content, content that doesn’t suck . Pretty simple that’s what they do.
“There’s a brand-new number on the dial: Viceland, a television channel with original content from around the world, officially launched on Monday morning. The 24-hour TV channel is co-owned by VICE Media and Rogers Media. Viceland is geared toward a millennial viewer (those born in the early 1980s to the early 2000s) and covers not only news, but also food, music, travel, and yes, marijuana.” http://www.citynews.ca/2016/02/29/rogers-vice-team-up-to-launch-new-television-station-viceland/
On the creation of Viceland spike-jonze has some pertinent ideas “I wanted to ask about was how changes in technology have affected the way these documentary-style shows are shot. There’s a big difference between the technical quality of these new shows and the reality or documentary shows of 10 years ago, and Jonze says that’s partly due to “the fact that I can take a camera the size of this bottle and shoot 4K hi-res, beautiful digital images. Or drones, go-pros, the evolution of these digital chips that capture the information. It’s insane how much it has evolved in the last 10 years.”” http://www.macleans.ca/culture/television/spike-jonze-on-viceland-tv-tech-and-working-with-friends/
“Among the announcements made by Vice executives at the Airship37 venue was the impending launch of Vice Quebec, which Vice Canada general manager Nina Sudra said would significantly expand the company’s French-language content, “filling the gap” in media catering to the province’s youth audience. Vice Quebec will be headed by general manager Delphine Poux, who has spent the past 12 years in a variety of sales roles with Rogers Communications, most recently as client solutions director overseeing national multiplatform programs.” :http://www.marketingmag.ca/tv-preview/vice-canada-launching-quebec-division-175266
